The entertainment industry is to be fired up, as another blockbuster epic movie titled 'LAKATABU' (the monster), is now available for screening in cinemas across Nigeria. 

Nigeria's Nollywood star and acting sensation, Odunlade Adekola who disclosed this on Sunday, said the future of the movie industry in Nigeria holds a tremendous promise and exciting transformations. 

Adekola said "Lakatabu is another hit that would shake the movie industry from the stables of Odunlade Adekola Film Production, OAFP and Film One Studios. 

He said, Lakatabu will be showing soon in various cinemas across the country. 

According to him, "the new film is a well researched traditional and historical tale poised to not only entertain, but educate the general public and highlight the cultural richness of our heritage". 

Adekola in his narration said, "Lakatabu is set in an ancient Yoruba city to showcase how powerful some beings were made. The tale is about a powerful human who turned himself into a fearful monster. And when Lakatabu enters anywhere, everybody scamper for safety"

"I will tell you that Lakatabu is a masterpiece that no one should miss. Various popular actors featured in the film", he said.

The Nigerian Police says procedures of autopsy for late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, has commenced while they await the results. 

The Police made this known on its X (Twitter) and Instagram pages on Thursday night.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had earlier announced that Mohbad’s body was exhumed for autopsy.

“The Police wish to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr Mohbad has been successfully completed,” the Police wrote.

“Furthermore, the information will be provided as soon as the results are available,” it added.

Mohbad’s death, last Tuesday, raised concerns, as an accusing finger was pointed at the Marlian Record Label’s owner, Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley.

He has since said he was innocent, and joined in the call for investigation and justice.

Also, there have been allegations and counter-allegations from relatives over Mohbad’s estate.

Nigerians queried why he was buried at Ikorodu in Lagos a day after he died. But his father provided an explanation, saying that the family followed Yoruba custom.

Meanwhile, Nigerian youths have staged peaceful protests across the country to demand justice for him, with a candlelight procession and concert held in Lekki, Lagos, today.

Nigerian musicians, Davido, Zlatan and Falz, were among celebrities who joined the candlelight procession in honour of the late singer, “Mohbad".

Also at the event was the Lagos State Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that fans in their numbers echoed, “Justice for Mohbad”, as Falz and on-air-personality, Oladotun Kayode, coordinated the crowd.

Some fans held placards with different inscriptions seeking justice for Mohbad.

NAN reports that the peaceful procession kicked off from Lekki Phase 1 Gate, and terminated at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

Late Afrobeats artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, has gained Billboard recognition after his demise.

Aloba was featured alongside several international music stars on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Powered by X Chart for the September 23, 2023 week.

The chart, which ranks songs currently trending on the microblogging platform, Twitter (X), featured three songs by the late rapper, on its top ten spots.

These included “Ask About Me” sitting at the eighth position, “Feel Good” which ranked fifth, and “Peace” peaking in the number two spot.

Other names on the Top ten chart include Nicki Minaj with her new hit “Big Difference”, Taylor Swift’s “Mean” and Drake’s collaboration with Sza “Slime You Out”.

Mohbad died on the 12th of September, 2023, under mysterious circumstances. His demise has led to several protests and peaceful marches across Nigeria as fans demand a proper investigation into his death.

Popular British-Nigerian singer and songwriter, Azeez Fashola known professionally as Naira Marley has sent a condolence message to the families, fans and friends of Promise Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, who recently passed away. 

The message which was released on the Instagram page of Naira Marley called on concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the 27 year old hip hop artiste.

The statement reads, "With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of an exceptional talent. Someone who was more than an artist or signee but a brother and dear friend Promise "Mohbad" Oladimeji Aloba. We send our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones, we are all heartbroken by his tragic loss and will be truly missed."

"From inception we recognised Mohbad was a force to be reckoned with. His music gave so many people love and light. Mohbad touched us all with his heartfelt lyrics, storytelling, infectious smile and energy. The news of his passing has left us with a permanent hole in our hearts."

"Mohbad is an incredible street pop star who contributed to the foundation of the Marlian Music. Despite his departure last year, we continually championed his talent. No family is perfect, families have disagreements but no harm whatsoever was wished on Mohbad. So many things left unsaid but the love was always there. This tragedy is not only a loss for us but to everyone you touched musically around the world."

"As we share our condolences to the late Mohbad, we would like to echo a call for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. We 're unhappy and unsettled with everything we have witnessed since Tuesday , the 12th September. We owe it to Mohbad to assist with uncovering any foul play or injustice. Naira Marley also shared a video showing the life and times of Mohbad while he was with the team as part of his tributes.

Famous chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, aka Hilda Baci, said she auditioned for Big Brother Naija reality show five times but wasn’t selected.

She said she planned to go on the reality show and become famous before staging her cooking challenge.

The Guinness World Record holder disclosed this while appearing on Cool FM Nigeria’s programme, The Big Friday Show, hosted by reality star, Tacha.

She said, “I actually tried to get on Big Brother [Naija] for a while. I think I auditioned about four or five times.

“The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out and do the cook-a-thorn.”

This was disclosed to Nigerian Newstrack in Abeokuta by the popular actor who said, "Orisa is another blockbuster movie that would shake the movie industry from the stables of Odunlade Adekola Film Production, OAFP and Film One Studios. 

Adekola said, Orisa will be showing in various cinemas from the 21st of July, 2023. 

According to him, "the new film is a well researched traditional and historical tale poised to not only entertain, but educate the general public and highlight the cultural richness of our heritage". 

Adekola in his narration said, "Orisa is set in an ancient Yoruba city. The tale is about a powerful warrior who allies himself with a gang of highly skilled warriors. Their nefarious activities poses a problem for the king and other criminal gangs in the city. A mission goes wrong and a dark secret comes to light threatening to spell doom for Orisa and his clique of warriors"

"I will tell you that it is a masterpiece that no one should miss" he said.

Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel has given his fans something to worry about following a shocking revelation that the music industry would miss him when he is no more.

But some concerned fans who reacted to the cryptic message shared by the singer said they feared the singer may be predicting his death ahead of time.

Daniel whose songs, Buga and Cough have ruled the airwaves within and outside Nigeria appears to be bothered about how celebrities in Nigeria are not celebrated by their colleagues until they are no more.

This is coming against the backdrop of the death of gospel singer, Sammie Okposo whose pictures flooded social media platforms shortly after his death but didn’t enjoy similar gestures while he was alive.

The Buga crooner shared a video of an Anglican cleric singing his popular Cough song on the pulpit during a service.

Daniel captioned the video saying, “celebrate me now that I am alive. This industry will miss me when I am no more.”

His fans however cautioned him and prayed that he lives long to keep entertaining the world with his talent.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, caused a stir on social media when he announced his second marriage to fellow actress, Judy Austin, on Wednesday.

In his announcement, Yul also revealed that he has welcomed a son with his second wife.

Yul’s first wife of 17 years, May, has reacted to the news of her husband’s second marriage, as she called on the judgement of God over the union.

Taking to the comment section of her husband’s post, she wrote, “May God judge you both.”

While announcing his new son, Yul Edochie added that he loves the child as much as he loved his older four children, which he shared with his first wife,

Yul Edochie wrote, “It’s time for the world to meet my son. His name is STAR DIKE MUNACHIMSO YUL-EDOCHIE.

Born by my second wife, Judy Austin.

And I love him so much, just as much as I love my other children.”

Yul, the last child of veteran actor, Pete Edochie, married his first wife at the young age of 22 .

He followed in his father’s footsteps and made his debut in the movie industry a year after his marriage.

In their 17 years of marriage, Yul and May are blessed with four children Danielle, Kambi, Karl, and Victory Edochie.
