FUEL DISCOUNT: TINUBU’S GOVERNMENT NEARING FAILURE, PRIMATE AYODELE WARNS

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has described the Federal Government’s proposed 30-day fuel price discount as a sign of confusion, warning that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is approaching failure.

Ayodele, in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, argued that the planned discount would have little impact, alleging that the government was taking desperate measures to secure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The cleric also criticised the administration’s handling of insecurity, insisting that his earlier warnings about the country’s security challenges had not been taken seriously.

“Tinubu’s government is on the verge of failure; the petroleum discount is nothing. I have said he will do anything to bail himself out for a second term; they will do anything, and something big is coming ahead of this election,” he said.

Ayodele further alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was desperate to retain power in 2027 but lacked a clear direction.

He warned Tinubu against certain campaign activities, claiming that developments ahead of the election could take the President and his campaign team by surprise.

According to the cleric, the proposed fuel discount suggests that the government may be considering a return to fuel subsidies, despite the administration’s decision to remove the subsidy.

“APC is very desperate for this election; they want to win by all means, and there is confusion,” Ayodele said.

“Tinubu will do what he shouldn’t do, and he must be careful; even the campaign council doesn’t understand what is coming up, and time will tell. There is serious confusion and shame in this government. They are trying to return fuel subsidy.”

The cleric also warned that a second term for Tinubu would worsen Nigeria’s economic difficulties, predicting that the country could experience greater hardship than it currently faces.

He maintained that his warning was based on what he described as divine revelation rather than personal hostility towards the President.

“Tinubu’s second term will bring serious hardship to Nigeria, and there are signs already. This is not a prophecy said out of hatred but what God has shown me,” he said.

“If Tinubu wins a second term, the country will suffer greatly, and what we see today will be nothing compared to what will happen if he returns for a second term.”

Ayodele’s comments come amid political discussions surrounding the 2027 general election and the government’s proposed fuel price relief measures. His claims about the administration’s intentions, the possible return of fuel subsidies and the consequences of Tinubu’s re-election remain his personal assessments and predictions.
