IRAN EXECUTES MAN ACCUSED OF SPYING FOR ISRAEL, SHARING MISSILE SITE INFORMATION

Iranian authorities have executed a man accused of providing Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency with information about Iranian missile sites in Isfahan province.

Iran’s judiciary announced on Saturday that the death sentence against Hossein Pedaran had been carried out after he was convicted of “espionage and intelligence collaboration” on behalf of Israel.

Judicial authorities said Pedaran had supplied Mossad with information about missile installations in Isfahan, central Iran. They did not disclose when he was arrested or when his trial took place.

The judiciary said Iran’s Supreme Court had upheld the death sentence.

The case had not previously been reported by the media.

The execution comes amid an escalation in arrests and executions by Iranian authorities linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict and nationwide unrest.

Iran has reported several cases involving alleged cooperation with Israel. In August, the judiciary announced the execution of two men accused of transmitting the coordinates of sensitive military and security sites to Israel.

Isfahan province, which hosts several Iranian nuclear facilities, has been among the areas heavily affected by attacks during the conflict, with numerous missile and military sites reportedly targeted.

Iranian authorities have intensified their crackdown amid the conflict, while rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns over the country’s use of the death penalty.

Iran records one of the world’s highest numbers of executions, ranking second globally after China according to rights groups.
