The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the release of the two Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officials kidnapped by gunmen in Osun State on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, Folashade Odoro, said the FRSC officials had been reunited with their families.
Details of how the FRSC officials regained freedom were not provided, but it was learnt that ransom was paid for their release.
A source, who preferred anonymity, said the FRSC officials were released upon the payment of about N2 million.
Odoro said the head of traditional hunters in Ibokun, Osun State, who was also kidnapped around Esa-Odo/Ilare in the Obokun Local Government Area of the State, was still with the kidnappers and that rescue mission was still going on.
