REPS SET TO REVIEW LEGISLATIVE AGENDA, ANNOUNCE AD-HOC COMMITTEE

Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has announced an ad-hoc committee to review the legislative agenda of the 9th House of Representatives, stating that it is imperative, considering prevailing realities.

The committee is to be chaired by, Mr Julius Ihonvbere, a professor and lawmaker representing Owan Federal Constituency.

The speaker made this known during plenary on Tuesday.

He added that the previous agenda of the house failed to take into cognizance the health and socioeconomic effects of infectious diseases, hence the need for the review.

Ihonvbere, who is also chairman of the House Committee on Basic Education & Services, had on Tuesday called for the recruitment of qualified and Registered teachers into Nigerian Schools, following a report he laid before the House on behalf of his committee.
