Unknown number of residents are feared dead in a gas explosion that occured at Ojekunle Street, Papa Ajao Lagos on Tuesday morning.

Reports have it that the explosion occurred around 8am.

There was pandemonium in the area while many bodies have been taken away from the scene with more feared trapped.

The number of casualties could not be ascertained.

Rescue efforts by residents were ongoing as at the time of filing this report by Nigerian Newstrack.
