A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Anisulowo has maintained that Senator Olamilekan Solomon representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly is not a genuine indigene of the senatorial district he is representing, the Penpushing Newspaper has reported.
Anisulowo who is an elder of the zone made the declaration in an interview with journalists, emphasizing that the federal lawmaker is a stranger in the zone and that he only came to take resources and inheritance of the founding fathers of the zone.
The former Minister of Education on the rumored Ogun State Governorship interest of Solomon declared that he would be resisted, insisting that he is not the state citizen, and should stop meddling into the internal politics of the zone and the state.
‘We are not accepting a stranger to come and take our resources and our inheritance in this place. We have worked very hard to build it to the level that they came. You don’t meddle with our internal politics. If you meddle with our internal politics, you’ll run to your own base eventually’, Anisulowo stated.
‘When he came, he came like a snake, serpent looking for his root. His mother was buried in Epe, the father is buried in Ekiti. I have been here for 40 years, playing the politics, national politics, and those time I was fighting for five local government where was he. If we are two local government, will he say he is from here. If he is my brother, won’t he congratulate me’, she emphasised
Anisulowo who was a former Governorship candidate, while buttressing her point to dismiss Solomon’s indigeneship claim said his mother was buried in Epe, while his father was buried in Ekiti.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) leader said she has been in the zone for over 40 years, and playing national politics, arguing that no records showed that Solomon popularly called Yayi is from Ogun West Senatorial District.
Anisulowo pointed out that Solomon came like a snake, stressing that when she was fighting for creation of local government in the zone, Solomon was no where, and also questioned authenticity of his political claim.
‘I am first of 9 children, because most of us are women. I was born, bred in Lagos, 179 Igbosere road that did not make me lose my roots. I am questioning his politics. He wants to come and take what belongs to us here’,Anishulowo explained.
The veteran politician berated some traditional rulers led by Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle for erroneously and personally accepting Solomon as indigene of the zone, stressing that it is unfortunate that traditional rulers ventured into politics
‘The Kabiyesi adopted him as a son, or whatever he thought, what he accepted him for. Accepted him is a personal relationship. He (Kabiyesi) is not supposed to be in politics, and he has chosen to play in line of politics’, she stated.
