Wealthy British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, also known as Denisi or Ego, has died at the age of 43 after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure during a luxury holiday in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.
Evidence presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court revealed that Ubiribo had 40ml of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March.
The cosmetic procedure was subsequently linked to the pulmonary embolism that caused his death.
Following the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel in Bangkok, where they went for a massage. He later complained of chest pain and collapsed twice before being rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.
Although he was initially conscious, his condition deteriorated and he lost consciousness before doctors could carry out a recommended CT scan.
Medical personnel diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism and transferred him to intensive care, where doctors reportedly performed CPR for more than 100 minutes in a desperate attempt to revive him.
Ubiribo eventually died in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination conducted in the UK later found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently concluded that the penis enlargement treatment had caused the pulmonary embolism, which ultimately led to Ubiribo’s death.
