PASTOR LAUNCHES CHRISTIAN MATCHMAKING PLATFORM WITH N700,000 VIP PLAN

Relationship coach and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has launched Mentor To Marry, a Christian matchmaking platform designed to connect serious singles seeking intentional, faith-based marriages, with annual membership fees ranging from N70,000 to N700,000.

Okonkwo, lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, announced the platform in a series of posts on X on Wednesday, describing it as a service aimed at helping Christian singles find potential marriage partners within a structured, faith-based environment.

According to the platform, Mentor To Marry combines marriage preparation, mentoring and matchmaking, with members required to undergo a preparation process before gaining access to its matching services.

Promoting the initiative, Okonkwo lamented what he described as the increasing commercialisation of relationships, particularly the financial expectations he said some young men face when seeking romantic partners.

“I feel for the men of this generation….relationships have been so commercialized nowadays that its almost impossible for a young man to find true love,” he wrote.

In another post, he said, “When we were young, all you had to get was a girls phone number but now all they want to send is their account number, now you are expected to pay rent, school fees and transport before you are taken seriously.”

He subsequently directed men interested in meeting “godly well mentored ladies from all over the world” to the platform.

However, Okonkwo clarified that the initiative was not based on the assumption that women were primarily interested in financial benefits from relationships.

“I can assure you that not all women are in relationship for business, there are a lot of good women looking to connect with serious godly men on our platform,” he said.

How Mentor To Marry Works

The platform says members begin with eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments and guided reflection before proceeding to recommendations and introductions, depending on their membership category.

It says the objective is to help singles develop greater clarity, maturity and accountability before entering marriage.

Membership is divided into Regular, Premium and VIP packages.

The Regular plan costs N70,000 annually and provides eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments and surveys, limited profile access, an accountability system, five weekly chats and access to a country-based matching pool.

The Premium package costs N350,000 per year and includes the Regular package, alongside unlimited profile browsing, monthly profile recommendations, priority access to coaches, global profiles, 10 weekly chats and access to private groups.

The VIP package, priced at N700,000 annually, offers the Premium benefits plus a dedicated matchmaker and coach, priority access to the platform's founders, 15 weekly chats, off-platform introductions, profile protection and global profile access.

Despite the range of services offered, the platform expressly states that membership does not guarantee a match, mutual interest or marriage.

Mentor To Marry says it is operated by Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, a Nigerian-registered non-profit organisation, and is targeted at Christians aged 25 and above.

Participants are required to identify as Christians and agree to the platform's stated principles on relationships and marriage. Members must also be unmarried, divorced or widowed to participate in matchmaking and are required to provide truthful information about their identity and marital status.

The platform says its approach prioritises Christian values, accountability, relationship education and marriage preparation, rather than casual dating.

It also prohibits sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, fraud, catfishing, sexually explicit content and financial exploitation.

Kingsley Okonkwo and his wife, Mildred Okonkwo, are listed among the platform's founders, with the initiative drawing on their pastoral and marriage-mentoring experience.

The platform says its broader philosophy is not simply to help singles meet potential partners, but to prepare them for the kind of marriage they hope to build.

For singles interested in marriage but unwilling or unable to enrol in a paid package, Mentor To Marry also provides a free singles community.
