Bayo Adelabu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has stated that President Bola Tinubu and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, have not endorsed any candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Adelabu made the clarification on Thursday in Ibadan while addressing party supporters after returning from Abuja, describing reports of endorsements as false and urging APC members to disregard them.
He said President Tinubu remains neutral in the Oyo governorship race, noting that as leader of a country with multiple states and local governments, the president would not favour any individual aspirant. According to him, Tinubu has instead encouraged party stakeholders to either build consensus or conduct direct primaries if agreement cannot be reached.
Adelabu also dismissed claims that the Olubadan had endorsed any aspirant, describing such reports as rumours and stressing that the traditional ruler remains a father figure to all residents regardless of political affiliation.
The former Minister of Power, who recently resigned to pursue his governorship ambition, said his aspiration is focused on inclusive governance and improving the welfare of residents across all segments of Oyo State.
