The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest to TheCable on Saturday, saying Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8.
“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.
The arrest comes months after the anti-graft agency declared Tejuosho wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud.
In April, the EFCC announced that Tejuosho, 41, was wanted over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.
The commission identified her as an indigene of Lagos State and listed her last known address as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.
The EFCC subsequently appealed to members of the public with information about her whereabouts to contact its offices nationwide, the nearest police station or other security agencies.
Appointment, Contract Scam Allegations
Tejuosho had previously been questioned by the EFCC over allegations linked to an alleged appointment and contract scam.
In June 2025, the commission interrogated her following complaints that she allegedly collected money from individuals after claiming she could secure federal government appointments and lucrative contracts for them.
According to the allegations under investigation, Tejuosho allegedly used purported appointment letters and forged documents to convince some individuals that she could facilitate government appointments and contracts.
She was identified by the commission as the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited and was subsequently granted administrative bail while investigations continued.
City Boy Movement Suspends Coordinator
Following the EFCC's declaration of Tejuosho as wanted in April, the City Boy Movement suspended her as the South-West Zonal Coordinator of its women’s wing.
The suspension took immediate effect pending the outcome of the investigation, according to the organisation.
The movement said the decision was an administrative measure aimed at protecting its image, credibility and ethical standards.
It also said the suspension would enable the investigation to proceed “without interference, obstruction, or undue influence.”
The City Boy Movement is a youth-focused political advocacy group that supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tejuosho's latest arrest is expected to enable the EFCC to further investigate the allegations, establish whether other individuals were involved and determine the extent of any financial transactions connected to the case.
The allegations remain subject to investigation, and any determination of criminal responsibility will be made through due legal process.
