TINUBU ENDS SIX-DAY LAGOS STAY, RETURNS TO ABUJA AFTER EUROPEAN VACATION

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday evening departed Lagos for Abuja, bringing to an end his six-day stay in the state following his recent private vacation in Europe.

The President’s return to the Federal Capital Territory was confirmed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled “President Tinubu Returns to Abuja.”

Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, after spending part of his annual vacation in London and Paris.

During his stay in Lagos, the President delivered his Independence Day address on October 1, marking Nigeria’s 66th anniversary.

In the nationally televised address, Tinubu declared that Nigeria had moved beyond what he described as the “age of reform” and had entered an “age of prosperity.”

The President later attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary chronicling the life, political struggle and legacy of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, as well as the June 12 pro-democracy struggle.

The premiere was held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.

On Sunday, Tinubu also visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the monarch’s Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.

The President had earlier departed Nigeria for his annual vacation in the United Kingdom and France in September.

During the trip, Tinubu was reported to have held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on September 17.

With his return to Abuja, the President is expected to resume official engagements at the seat of government.
