Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has revealed that he played a spiritual role in the success of six Nigerian politicians during the 2023 general elections.
The respected film icon made the disclosure while hosting popular streamer Peller at his residence in Enugu. Peller, currently on a nationwide tour, had visited the actor to seek guidance and blessings.
Recounting the incident, Edochie said the politicians visited him ahead of the elections bearing gifts, including a ram and kolanuts, and requested his prayers.
“They came to my house with a big ram and kolanuts. I prayed for them, and they all won their elections,” he said.
Reflecting on the experience, the 78-year-old actor expressed gratitude, attributing the outcomes to divine intervention.
“I thank God every day. Whenever I make a request to the Almighty, it is granted. Those I have prayed for have succeeded exactly as I asked,” he added.
His comments come shortly after he raised concerns over Nigeria’s rising cost of living, revealing that he spends about ₦40,000 daily on electricity and fuel.
Edochie also questioned the country’s economic direction, lamenting the growing hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians and calling for meaningful improvements in governance and infrastructure.
