The family of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has revealed details of her funeral arrangements.
The actress’ death was announced on Wednesday, nearly two years after she underwent surgery for breast cancer in November 2024.
In an Instagram post on Friday, the family disclosed that a candlelight procession and artistes’ night will be held in her honour of Osoba on the evening of August 11.
The event is tentatively scheduled to take place at LTV 8 in Ikeja, Lagos, to celebrate “her voice, art and spirit”.
The funeral service will be held on August 13 at Saint James’s Anglican Church in Iperu Remo, Ogun state, followed immediately by her interment at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.
The family also announced that the dress code for the funeral is white.
On Thursday, Osoba’s family dismissed widespread speculation surrounding the circumstances of her death.
Since news of her death broke, several theories have circulated on social media and blogs. Some reports claimed she died from breast cancer.
Others, including some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry, suggested she had been battling emotional or psychological challenges before her death.
However, the family did not disclose the cause of her death but urged the public to stop spreading unverified information.
