LUXURY SKYLINES TO FEEDING A NATION, SIJIBOMI OGUNDELE'S BOLD NEW MISSION

"How the Sujimoto Founder is Expanding His Legacy Beyond Real Estate to Help Shape Nigeria’s Food Future"

For years, the name Sijibomi Ogundele has been synonymous with ambition, luxury, innovation and architectural excellence.

Through Sujimoto Group, he challenged conventions, redefined premium real estate and delivered some of Nigeria’s most talked-about luxury developments. His projects became symbols of aspiration, attracting admiration for their bold designs, uncompromising quality and world-class standards.

Today, however, the visionary entrepreneur is setting his sights on an even larger mission, one that extends beyond towering skyscrapers and luxury residences to a sector that directly impacts the lives of millions of Nigerians every day, and that is "food production".

In a move that has captured the attention of industry observers and economic stakeholders, Sujimoto Group has announced its strategic diversification into food processing and manufacturing, marking a significant chapter in the evolution of one of Nigeria’s most ambitious business brands.

The decision is not merely another business expansion. It reflects a deeper vision, one rooted in national development, economic empowerment and sustainable impact.

For Ogundele, the future of business is not only about creating wealth but also about solving some of society’s most pressing challenges. Among those challenges, food security remains one of the most critical.

With Nigeria’s population exceeding 240 million people and food demand growing at an unprecedented pace, the entrepreneur sees immense opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s future.

“Every generation is presented with opportunities to solve major problems,” Ogundele notes. “Food production is one of the most important sectors for the future of Nigeria and we believe the private sector has a significant role to play in driving transformation.”

That belief has now given birth to Sujimoto Foods, a venture designed to participate actively across the food value chain while introducing global manufacturing standards into Nigeria’s agricultural and industrial ecosystem.

In pursuit of this vision, Sujimoto recently initiated strategic engagements with Cotco Food Machinery OEM, one of China’s leading food processing equipment manufacturers.

During a high-level meeting with the company’s General Manager, Peter Sang, discussions centred on deploying advanced food-processing technologies and modern manufacturing systems capable of supporting large-scale production in Nigeria.

The partnership represents far more than the acquisition of machinery. It signals Sujimoto’s determination to bring international expertise, cutting-edge technology and global best practices into a sector that holds enormous potential for economic growth.

The scale of the ambition is remarkable.
Sujimoto Foods is targeting an annual production capacity of approximately one million tonnes, positioning itself as a major player in Nigeria’s food manufacturing landscape. The initiative is expected to contribute to job creation, industrial development, supply-chain expansion and improved access to quality food products for millions of consumers.

Industry analysts view the move as a strategic response to a growing reality, nations that secure their food systems secure their future.

Yet perhaps what makes this transition particularly compelling is that it mirrors the entrepreneurial philosophy that has guided Ogundele throughout his career.

Long before Sujimoto became a household name in luxury real estate, its founder built his reputation on a willingness to venture where others hesitated, embracing challenges with confidence and pursuing excellence without compromise.
That same mindset transformed ambitious concepts into iconic developments.

Among them is LucreziaBySujimoto, widely celebrated as one of Nigeria’s most prestigious luxury residential projects and a benchmark for high-end urban living.

Now, the company is pushing boundaries even further with LeonardoBySujimoto, a proposed 60-storey masterpiece envisioned as one of Africa’s most luxurious and architecturally significant skyscrapers.

For Ogundele, however, success is not measured solely by the height of buildings or the value of assets. Increasingly, it is measured by impact.

His diversification into food manufacturing reflects a broader evolution in leadership, one where entrepreneurs move beyond industry dominance to become active contributors to national transformation.
In many ways, the story of Sujimoto Foods is the story of a businessman who refuses to be confined by traditional definitions of success.

Having conquered one sector, he is now stepping into another with the same audacity, innovation and determination that built his reputation.

At a time when Nigeria seeks greater industrialisation, stronger food security and increased private-sector participation in economic development, Ogundele’s latest venture stands as a powerful reminder that visionary leadership is not about remaining comfortable, it is about continually identifying new frontiers and pursuing them with purpose.

From redefining luxury living to helping strengthen Nigeria’s food future, Sijibomi Ogundele is once again proving that true visionaries do not simply build businesses. They build possibilities.

And with Sujimoto’s bold entry into food manufacturing, the entrepreneur appears determined to leave a legacy that will be measured not only by the skylines he transformed, but also by the lives he helps nourish.
