SUJIMOTO BOSS, SIJIBOMI OGUNDELE NAMED AMONG DAILY TIMES' TOP 100 TRAILBLAZERS

Sujimoto Group founder and CEO, Sijibomi Ogundele, has been honoured among Nigeria’s Top 100 Trailblazers by Daily Times Nigeria, a recognition that places the luxury real estate entrepreneur alongside some of the country’s most influential business leaders and nation builders.

Ogundele, popularly known as Sujimoto, received the recognition as Daily Times marks its centenary, with the newspaper having served as one of Nigeria’s longstanding media institutions since its establishment in 1926.

The centenary celebration has been positioned around the newspaper’s history of journalism, nation-building and its role in documenting Nigeria’s political, economic and social development.

Reacting to the honour, Ogundele described the recognition as more than a celebration of past achievements, saying it should serve as a reminder of the greater responsibilities and possibilities that lie ahead.

He expressed gratitude to Daily Times for the recognition, describing the newspaper as an institution whose history has been closely intertwined with the making of modern Nigeria.

According to him, being recognised by an institution that has, over the decades, documented the contributions of prominent Nigerians makes the honour particularly significant.

Ogundele also acknowledged the role of media entrepreneur and Daily Times Patron, Fidelis Anosike, in articulating the deeper purpose of the recognition.

The Sujimoto boss said being counted among a distinguished group of Nigerians, including leading business figures and nation builders such as Aliko Dangote, was both humbling and inspiring.

Rather than seeing the award as a destination, Ogundele said he regarded it as a renewed obligation to push boundaries, create greater value and demonstrate what he described as the “Spirit of Possibility.”

The recognition comes against the background of Ogundele’s rise as one of the prominent names in Nigeria’s luxury real estate sector.

Sujimoto was founded in 2013 with a stated ambition of redefining luxury property development in Nigeria and the company has developed a reputation for high-end residential projects in premium locations.

His entrepreneurial journey has also attracted considerable attention over the years. Reports on his background have highlighted his early exposure to enterprise, his experiences growing up in Agege and his eventual transition into international business and real estate before returning to Nigeria to pursue his vision in the luxury property market.

Sujimoto’s own corporate profile says Ogundele has more than 12 years’ experience in construction and real estate and has transacted more than N45 billion in real estate over his career.

The company lists diligence, integrity and excellence among its core values.

The entrepreneur has consistently presented value creation, innovation and the refusal to accept mediocrity as central to his business philosophy. Daily Times itself has previously reported on Sujimoto’s projects and Ogundele’s views on value creation, including the development of the LucreziaBySujimoto project in Banana Island.

For Ogundele, however, the latest recognition is not an invitation to rest on past accomplishments.

He said the honour should challenge him and his team to “stretch possibility further, build with greater consequence, dream BIGGER” and continue demonstrating what the spirit of possibility can achieve.

With his characteristic confidence, he concluded with a personal mantra,

“1+1 is still 11. It is already too late to fail.”

The Top 100 Trailblazers recognition therefore comes not merely as another addition to Ogundele’s list of honours, but as a recognition of a journey built around ambition, resilience and the determination to keep pushing the boundaries of possibility.
