Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel has emerged as a surprising transfer target for Galatasaray ahead of the new season. The club, already boasting fellow Nigerian star Victor Osimhen, is reportedly considering Osayi-Samuel to strengthen their right-back options.
The 28-year-old spent four and a half seasons at Fenerbahçe, scoring seven goals and providing 15 assists across 178 appearances. He played a key role in Fenerbahçe’s 2022–2023 Turkish Cup triumph before moving to Birmingham City last summer.
Currently, Galatasaray favours Roland Sallai at right-back, with Wilfried Singo as backup. With Singo attracting interest from other clubs, Osayi-Samuel has re-emerged as an alternative. Notably, he was close to joining rivals Besiktas last summer, but the deal fell through.
Under contract with Birmingham City until 2028, Osayi-Samuel has featured in 22 matches this season, clocking 1,242 minutes and registering one assist. He is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles and played the full 90 minutes in Friday’s 2-1 victory over Iran in Turkey.
