Nigerian actress Laide Bakare has announced plans to get married for the third time, describing the upcoming union as her “first official” marriage.
The Nollywood star made the disclosure during a recent interview with Mr LilGaGa, revealing that preparations for the wedding are already underway.
“I will soon be getting married, officially, for the first time ever,” she said.
Bakare, however, did not reveal the identity of her fiancé or the date of the ceremony.
In November 2023, a video she shared showing a proposal sparked speculation about a possible wedding, attracting congratulatory messages from fans. She later clarified that the scene was part of a movie project titled Oko Laide, and that the man featured was her co-star.
The actress, 45, was previously married to Olumide Okunfulure, a US-based businessman from Ondo State. The union produced a daughter, Simi, before ending.
She also has two sons with her second husband, Mutairu Orilowo, although details surrounding the end of that marriage have remained private.
Bakare began her acting career in 1999 with the film Adeyemi and has since featured in numerous Nollywood productions, earning recognition for her work.
