Saheed Osupa has spoken out about his long-running dispute with Seyi Makinde, accusing the governor of breaking promises and betraying his trust after the 2019 election.
The Fuji star made the claims after performing at the governorship declaration event of Sharafadeen Alli in Ibadan, where he publicly endorsed the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
Osupa alleged that he played a key role during Makinde’s 2019 campaign, performing at multiple rallies under an agreement that he would be rewarded after victory. However, he claimed that once the election was won, he was sidelined and his expectations were not met.
According to him, the agreement went beyond standard performance fees and included personal promises that were never fulfilled. He further alleged that he is yet to be paid for some of the work done during the campaign.
“They promised to ‘take care of me’ after the election, but instead, the relationship turned sour after they secured power,” he said.
Addressing claims that he received a luxury vehicle from the state government, Osupa dismissed the narrative, explaining that the car was merely a replacement for his own vehicle, which was damaged during campaign activities. He added that the replacement came much later than expected and did not match the value of what had been promised.
