“WHEN HE’S ANGRY, HE TEXTS ME” — TEMI OTEDOLA SHARES THEIR UNIQUE WAY OF SETTLING ARGUMENTS

Temi Otedola Ajibade, wife of music executive Oluwatosin ‘Mr Eazi’ Ajibade, has opened up about how she and her husband navigate communication during disagreements.

On a recent episode of their podcast, Temi revealed that he often prefers to express his feelings through text, even when they’re in the same room.

She recalled a particular dispute when Mr Eazi sent her a long message through email to say he was upset, rather than telling her directly.

She admitted the situation frustrated her, especially because she had asked him several times if something was wrong.

“Now, I think he is working on it. The way I found out that Tosin was angry with me on a Monday was that he sent me this long message. Bear it in mind that we are sitting in the same flat. And me, minding my business, responding to my mails, and I got a message saying everything he was upset about me for,” she said.

“While I was reading it, my body was already becoming hot. At some point, I couldn’t even read it because I was so angry.

“Imagine I have asked this guy 10 times: “Are you upset with me?” I was hot. Honestly, if you are in the same situation, I think it is childish not to go up and speak to them. Right now, that is what you are comfortable with. You find it easier to express yourself by typing. At least, you are getting out. But it will be nice if you express it to me.”

Responding, Mr Eazi explained that texting helps him communicate difficult emotions without risking harshness or physical tension.

“I would prefer to do that. I see that sometimes when we sit down to talk, I do not hit the nail on the head. Because at the same time, I do not want to sound harsh. I do not want to because I am such a nice person,” he said.

“I think it is important for people to find the best way to communicate. For me, it is writing. When I want to be stone-cold, I can do it, so I can read it again to see what I have repeated.”

The couple began dating in 2017 and got engaged in April 2023. Last year, they held a three-part wedding across Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland — an event rumoured to have cost approximately $15 million.
