CAMEROON MAKE HISTORY, CRUSH MALAWI 3-0 TO WIN WAFCON TITLE

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses have made history after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday to claim their first-ever continental title.

Cameroon produced a dominant display in Rabat, Morocco, putting the final beyond Malawi’s reach with all three goals scored in a blistering first half.

Tournament debutants Malawi struggled to cope with Cameroon’s attacking intensity as the Lionesses seized control from the opening stages and never looked back.

Marie Ngah Manga opened the scoring to put Cameroon ahead before Naomi Eto doubled the advantage with a superb swivelling finish.

Ngah Manga then struck again to complete her brace and send Cameroon into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

Malawi attempted to respond after the interval but could not find a breakthrough as Cameroon comfortably protected their advantage to the final whistle.

The historic victory ends Cameroon’s long wait for WAFCON glory after three previous runners-up finishes.

Their most recent appearance in the final before Sunday’s triumph came in 2016, when the Indomitable Lionesses suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Nigeria.

Eight years later, Cameroon finally completed their journey to the top of African women’s football, lifting their maiden WAFCON trophy in emphatic fashion.
