Nollywood actress Fathia Williams has spoken about her relationship with former husband Saidi Balogun, revealing that they still share a cordial bond despite their separation.
The actress made the clarification in a video that surfaced online shortly after the burial of her late mother, where she addressed long-standing questions about her past marriage. According to her, their relationship has evolved into one built on mutual respect and their shared responsibility as parents.
Fathia explained that they still communicate regularly, noting that they both work in the same film industry and have children together. She described Balogun as a responsible father, adding that their connection did not completely end with their marriage.
She, however, emphasised that her past relationship would not influence her future decisions. The actress stated that her ex-husband has no control over her personal life, particularly regarding her choice to remarry.
Fathia also expressed optimism about finding love again, saying she remains open to marriage if she meets the right partner. She maintained that while Balogun remains part of her life as a co-parent and colleague, she is free to move forward.
The actress said her former husband is “a wonderful father” and reiterated that nothing stops her from remarrying if she finds the right person.
Fathia Williams and Saidi Balogun were married in the early 2000s and were once considered one of the prominent couples in the Yoruba movie industry before their separation. Both have since continued to thrive in their acting careers.
